| Pre-School is a super place for children of two and over to begin their education. It is a happy, exciting environment with a team of dedicated, caring, professionals ready to nurture their young charges. We do not take more than twenty children at one time and have a very generous staffing ratio. |

Open for 50 weeks of the year from 8.00 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. It offers an opportunity for children to attend from two to ten sessions per week. If your child is three and over they may qualify for a nursery grant which pays for part or all the fees. |
Birthday parties, celebrating cultural festivals, food tasting, visits from people who help like the fireman, optician, policeman and the Easter Bunny who leaves chocolate eggs are arranged to motivate the children. Learning follows a programme of activities which enrich the Early Learning Goals. Freshly cooked, good food, is an important part of the daily routine. |

At 8.00 a.m. free play activities begin a typical day with sound structured learning. By 9.15 a.m. everyone is present at registration and circle time for discussion. Pupils practise managing personal hygiene before 'snack time'. More activities follow, interspersed with flash cards and outdoor play. Now it is time to tidy away making sure we can do it independently. Singing, rhymes and ring games precede a great lunch. Time now to settle down with an engrossing story before the afternoon session begins and more children arrive to begin all the fun again. Staff are available to discuss the day with parents when they collect their children. A comprehensive written report is given to parents during the summer. |
| Where does this department fit in to the school? It is the first step progressing from part time to full time education. Pre-Prep for children from 4-7 years is only a short distance away and on the same site as the Prep department for children 7-11 years. |
