Rudston Rugby Team Prepare for Tournament

Thanks to the help of members of the Rotherham Titans squad, Rudston Rugby Team are better prepared than ever for their tournament this Autumn. They have been fortunate to be trained and put through their paces at the Titans' ground with the guidance and instruction of Jamie Kilbane, Ross Batty and Adam Kleeberger.

Some of the boys are already keen players and knew what to expect but for many it was their first real foray into the skills and technicalities of the game. One thing was obvious: they really enjoyed the experience and have learned such a lot on the course.

Each session was divided up into practising various skills such as passing, sidestepping, spinning out of the tackle, tackling (tag rugby) and communicating. These drills were all then put into practice in an actual game. There was constant feedback from the players and group discussions focusing on the positive things and those things that needed targeting for improvement.

Thank you very much, Jamie, Ross and Adam for your help and encouragement. More boys have become interested in the sport as a result and many have improved their skills and awareness.
