Public Speaking Competition
2009

A very close contest

High quality entrants give the
judges a tough time

Monday 29th June 2009

Those of you who have had to deliver a speech in public know just how difficult this can be. We are full of admiration for every one of the contestants in this year's competition who all gave of their very best and created an entertaining and thought-provoking afternoon.

Our Principal, Mrs Sharpe, and school trustee
Mr Middleton were charged with the unenviable task of choosing the best speeches from a strong field. Our winners are shown here being presented with their trophies. In the photographs below you can see just a few of the entrants going through their paces with Mrs Taylor introducing them. The hall was packed and the audience very appreciative. We were entertained, made to laugh but also encouraged to think hard about some difficult issues in the world today. Congratulations to all who took part - it was very close.
