Prize Day 2010

Another year of success is celebrated

Our Prize Day was on 15th July this year and was, as usual, a great celebration of the wonderful effort and achievements of so many of our children. The choir and orchestra made it an even more memorable occasion singing and playing with such skill and obvious enjoyment. To make it even more special our Guest of Honour was Mr. Howard Webb FIFA World Cup Final referee who had jetted home from South Africa just days before: we are so grateful that he made the time to join us. His speech was interesting and encouraging for our pupils. The Principal, Lynda Sharpe, gave her Annual Address which was full of examples of the very good year we have had at Rudston. In particular the recent excellent Inspection Report gave us all many reasons to be proud of what all of the pupils and staff at Rudston are achieving. The joint winners of the Public Speaking competition, Sophie Akhavan-Hezaveh and Harry Clay, gave a well-received performance of their winning speeches. Of course, a special part of the occasion was a farewell to our excellent Upper 4 who go on to pastures new in September. They have been a credit to their parents and to the school and we send them every good wish for the future.
