Exciting project with Sheffield University

to create a brand new website

Our website has served us well for years but it is time to refresh it. To do this we have created a partnership with the Sheffield University Department of Computer Studies. Three teams of student website developers have each been constructing a new site over the last few months. This has been a detailed and thorough piece of work consisting of much consultation with ourselves and a visit to school by the teams. We have chosen the website we think best suits our needs and it should be up-and-running by the summer of 2012.

It has been a really worthwhile project through which we have developed strong links with the Sheffield University and become a partner for their development programme. The new site will have a fresh look and contain many useful features. New and easy to use software will enable staff in school to keep the website more up-to-date and there will be features that link school to parents and pupils much more effectively.

As of the end of October we can report that the site-look has been designed and the initial setting up has been completed on a remote server. The inevitable initial teething problems have been solved and we are now beginning to populate the new site.
