What The Victorians Did For Us
Upper 3 recently visited Cannon Hall to spend the day living as Victorians, accompanied by Mrs Taylor and some brave parents. As you can see from the picture on the left, a splendid time was had by all. (Actually the girls were asked to pose like this, honest!)
The children would have liked to have played the part of the Lord and Lady of the house, but we thought it would be more educational if they got a taste of life 'below stairs'. They had a go at washing clothes, preparing food and (as can be seen here) disciplining naughty rugs.
It was a nice chance to dress up and we were all very impressed by their costumes. Flat caps, it seems, were obligatory.
